WEINSTEIN ASSET ACQUISITION
Following Lantern’s acquisition of The Weinstein Company’s assets in July 2018, Lantern Entertainment, an independent entertainment media platform, was formed. In partnership with Spyglass Media Group, the company now owns and controls a library of 250+ films as well as a development slate of films and television series. Spyglass is now positioned as a premium content company that is focused on developing, producing, financing and acquiring motion pictures and television series for worldwide audiences.

CHALLENGE:
Following the #MeToo movement, Lantern acquired the assets of The Weinstein Company in a bankruptcy transaction in March 2018. We strategically navigated through the media storm to position Lantern as a new entrant into the entertainment industry.
STRATEGY:
From crisis media management through a litigious and intense acquisition process to launching Lantern’s first feature film (“The Upside”) and rebooting Project Runway on NBC Universal’s Bravo, this comprehensive campaign helped secure a partnership with Spyglass Media Group.
